Khorjin Face

It is unfortunate that the tactile quality of this weaving cannot be conveyed by a photograph; the sumptuous silkiness of the wool is quite remarkable.  As is the color saturation of the dyed wool.  The indigo field is so intensely dyed it almost appears black.  It is unusual to find cochineal red (in the four bluish-red plant forms near the corners of the field) used side-by-side with madder red in a “Baluch” weaving.
