In the central panel of this early 19th C tentband, green silk knots dot the diagonal red branches, and pink silk outlines the indigo diagonals. The use of silk here emphasizes the importance of this center panel, which would have been directly opposite the tent entrance. Radiating from the center is a sequence of eight symmetrical rectangular panels. The two pomegranate ones are handsome but my favorites are the narrower, more geometric elements. White cotton adds good color contrast.
