Yomud Kap(?)

The small squarish format is not common among Turkmen bags, and this is the smallest such Yomud that we know. The main field design is also rare, as is the usage of eight-pointed stars in the field and main border (There is a mafrash with similar design in Hali 87). The seller claimed that the piece had originally been an okbash whose lappets were removed, but the small size, vertical warps, and plain-colored border on all four sides don’t fit with this theory, while the remnants of a colorful fringe at the bottom strongly suggest that this is, indeed, a bagface.
