Daghestan Pile Rug 19th century
The
boldness of the lattice is intriguing as is the shape of the mihrab.
The dragon border ranges from carefully drawn to crude. The rug
features very saturated
colors and lustrous wool.
We find the irregular wefting
interesting. It seems to be an attempt to keep the rug square.
